Even when the valves are fully open they still cause interference with the gasflow through the port because the valve stem sits in the middle of that flow.
With our HiFlo valves this interference is minimised by reducing the valve stem diameter over the interfering section of the inlet valves. Of course this also helps to reduce the weight of the valves and the associated load on the valve train
