Short Engine Rebuilds

Basic Rebuild
The block is totally stripped, checked, chemically cleaned, and then has a detailed inspection. The block is then re-bored and honed and the core plugs are renewed. The standard crank is reground and polished, and the existing rods are re-bushed. New pistons and bearings are typically also fitted.
Optionally this can include a strip clean and rebuild of the front cover and sump

Performance Bottom End
This option works particularly well for the 360 and 420 cylinder heads. As with the basic rebuild the block is stripped, cleaned inspected and rebuilt (including the front cover and sump) but in addition the engine is balanced and the whole engine is carefully blueprinted, deck heighted etc.

1700cc Short Engine (Available on an outright sale basis)
A basic short engine assembly comprising a rebuilt Ford 711M block, bored to twincam (82.5mm) bore size. A 76.7mm crank is ground, laped and fitted (with appropriate bearings), along with 4.9" con rods and a set of new QED cast pistons. Jackshaft bearings are fitted as required and the block face is then machined to give the correct height.
Optionally this can be supplied with a new iron jackshaft, steel flywheel and ring gear, baffled sump and front cover assembly.

All Steel Bottom End (Outright sale only)
This is the ultimate racing block. A square-capped, 711M block is bored to accept a set of 83.5mm forged pistons. A steel crank, and steel rods are fitted for maximum engine strength along with a lightweight steel flywheel.
