Our range of kits for the K series are tailored for specific applications.
Fast Road/Trackday Kit
This is our basic upgrade kit for the standard K series engines, and
an engine fitted with this kit should produce 175* bhp at around 7000
rpm with peak torque in excess of 140* ftlb from 5000 to 6000 rpm.
The kit uses our direct to head throttle
bodies to replace the standard induction system, our Q375HK profile
camshafts to replace the standard items, and also involves changing
the engine management system. The
result is an engine that delivers improved performance without an unreasonable
loss of road manners.
Club MotorSport Kit
This kit is intended purely for motorsport use andshould produce 205*
bhp at around 8000 rpm with peak torque of up to 150* ftlb from 5000
to 6000 rpm.
The kit uses our direct to head throttle
bodies, our Q425MK (inlet) and Q395MK (exhaust) profile cams,
and also involves changing the engine management system. Because of
the more aggressive cam profile the kit includes better valve springs
and pistons with deeper valve pockets.
Included as a part of the kit is porting work to be carried out on your
existing cylinder head. Rods are also re-bushed to accommodate the new
pistons, again on your own components.
Full Race Kit
This kit is for dedicated race engines only and should be fitted by
an experienced engine builder. It is assumed for this kit that the base
engine will be the VHPD K series engine although a variation of this
kit can be supplied for the VVC engine. When fitted with this kit an
engine should produce 220* bhp at around 8000 rpm with peak torque of
up to 150* ftlb from 5500 to 6000 rpm.
To achieve this extreme level of engine modification this kit is obviously
quite extensive. Direct to head throttle
bodies improve high speed engine induction, whilst our most aggressive
cams (Q455MK and Q425MK) replace the standard
items, and require several other changes including upgraded valve springs,
platform and retainers as well pistons with deeper valve pockets. To
strengthen the engine our banded cylinder liners
are included as well as a set of steel con rods. Comprehensive porting
work is carried out on your existing cylinder head including balancing
the combustion chambers.
