We supply a full range of gaskets including OE (original equipment)
gaskets and more robust gaskets developed specifically for motorsport
engines.
Head Gaskets
Amongst some people the K series engine has gained a reputation for head
gasket failure. The root cause of this is often poor temperature control
caused by a coolant system design which is not ideal for the engines as
they are installed into sports cars like the Elise or MGF.
<See our remote thermostat kit for
a solution to this problem.>
This potential point of failure can also be strengthened by fitting
a heavy duty head gasket, which we particularly recommend for engines
with a raised compression ratio, or which will be used beyond 7500rpm.
The OE gasket has seals which are bonded onto the surface of the gasket
material. By contrast the heavy duty gasket that we offer has seals
which are bonded through the gasket. Producing the gaskets this way
gives them far greater strength than the original gasket but without
any increase in thickness. This in turn means the HD gasket can be fitted
in exactly the same way as the standard gasket without any loss of compression
ratio.
Head Gasket Sets
Head gasket sets are available with a standard head gasket, a heavy
duty head gasket, or without a head gasket.
Each of these options then includes a cam cover gasket, inlet manifold
gasket, exhaust manifold gasket, valve stem oil seals, and cam seals.
Conversion Sets
This is also sometimes called a bottom end gasket set and includes front
and rear oil seals, an oil pump gaskets, water pump gasket, thermostat
seal, sump plug washer, oil filter housing gasket and dipstick tube
gasket.
There are also options for different sump gaskets, depending on the
exact engine variant.
