| TB240 Engine
This is a dedicated motorsport engine, and although in general form
it is not built for a specific application, variations can be built
to suit the regulations of several motorsport disciplines. To accomodate the higher lift cams, forged pistons are fitted with deeper valve pockets but these also give a higher compression ratio, usually 12:1. Heavy duty con rod bolts are fitted to allow the safe use of higher rpm with rev limits typically set at 8000 rpm. As an additional option, for race applications, a lightweight steel flywheel can also be fitted to make the engine more free revving. Typically these engines use a baffled wet sump but dry sump systems are also available. Ignition and fuelling is controlled by a DTAfast ECU which is supplied
with a dedicated engine bay wiring loom and all of the relevant sensors.
